The humans behind HumaningCo.
Like many meaningful things in life, HumaningCo emerged little by little.
It began with listening.
"Through my work in communities, schools and organisations, I've spent countless hours talking with people of all ages about the places they live, the lives they lead, the things they love and the future they hope to create.
Again and again, I have found myself drawn to communication and insight from children. Their observations. Their questions. How they interact with places and people. Their remarkable ability to notice things the rest of us often overlook.
Along the way, I've also met incredible parents, carers, educators, community workers, health professionals, leaders and advocates-people who care deeply about the humans growing beside them and the world they experience.
And then there is Lachlan.
The little human who asks, "So, what do you want to talk about?" more than anyone else I know.
Lachie reminds me to stay curious, to keep open eyes and an open mind, and to remember that every person experiences life a little differently. Every time I pause to listen to his perspective - to notice how he is experiencing the world - I become a better me. Lachlan has helped me learn that I don't need the answers and that our connection grows stronger through shared experiences where we are both learning, in different ways and side by side.
Somewhere between community halls, playgrounds, boardrooms, kitchen tables, dinosaur drawings, wonderfully unexpected adventures in nature and questions with 99 different answers, HumaningCo. began to take shape.
Over time, I've noticed that the moments we share with one another do more than create memories.
They shape how we see ourselves.
How we understand one another.
And ultimately, the kind of world we create together."
That is the foundation of HumaningCo.
Today, we bring that philosophy to life through books and experiences that create more opportunities for children and grown ups to connect, share a moment, and better understand one another.
